Giveaway Interview A BREATH OF FROST by ALYXANDRA HARVEY @AlyxandraH @bwkids

Book Description

 January 7, 2014

In 1814, three cousins—Gretchen, Emma, and Penelope—discover their family lineage of witchcraft when a binding spell is broken, allowing their individual magical powers to manifest. Now, beyond the manicured gardens and ballrooms of Regency London, an alluring underworld available only to those with power is revealed to the cousins. By claiming their power, the three cousins have accidentally opened the gates to the underworld. Now ghouls, hellhounds—and most terrifying of all, the spirits of dark witches known as the Greymalkin Sisters—are hunting and killing young debutante witches for their powers. And, somehow, Emma is connected to the murders…because she keeps finding the bodies. Can the cousins seal the gates before another witch is killed…or even worse, before their new gifts are stripped away?

About the Author
Alyxandra Harvey is the author of Haunting Violet, Stolen Away and the Drake Chronicles series. Alyx likes medieval dresses and tattoos and has been accused of being born in the wrong century - except that she really likes running water, women's rights and ice cream. She lives in an old Victorian farmhouse in Ontario, Canada, with her husband, her dogs and a few resident ghosts. www.alyxandraharvey.com

PLEASE WELCOME ALYXANDRA TO BOOKHOUNDS

Do you have a secret talent?

I have an unfortunate talent for always picking the item without a tag and not realizing it until I’m in the checkout line.

Is there a song that really reminds you of your book?

I love making playlists for my books. Sometimes the songs come before the book and sometimes they sneak in afterwards. For A Breath of Frost, “It’s No Good” by Depeche Mode works well for Cormac and Emma.

What was the easiest thing about writing this book?

I love research and finding out new strange little details about like in Regency London. The easiest thing though was rewatching Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility for atmosphere and pretty costumes. That is never a hardship!

Is there a word you love to use?

I love “flibbertigibbet’ and I really only get to use in books set in the Regency!

Any real or imaginary pets?

I have a big black dog named Bronte. And soon we’ll be getting a corgi puppy. There is nothing in the world cuter.
