From the first page, and quite possibly the first sentence, I was hooked on this refreshingly different YA read that is suitable and enjoyable for all ages! ~Dii
Author Stan Schatt
Stan Schatt has written thirty books on a wide variety of topics including a chapter book for children, a YA novel, biographies of Michael Connelly and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and books on technology and career changing. His love for teaching is reflected in outstanding teaching awards he received from the University of Southern California and DeVry Institute of Technology. Rather than having one career, Schatt has had several. He has worked as an autopsy assistant, an English professor, a software trainer, a law enforcement administrator, a market research executive, and a sales manager.
PLEASE WELCOME STAN TO BOOKHOUNDS ya
1. What is the first book you remember reading by yourself as a child?
I'm sure I read plenty of Dick and Jane books, but one book that I distinctly remember was Brother from the Stars, a book about an alien who becomes close friends with a boy.
2. What are you reading right now?
I just started reading Nelson DeMille's The Quest.
3. How does your garden grow?
Actually I'm lucky enough to live in San Diego, so my garden grows very well. We live near the coast, so the moisture keeps plants well watered and boy do the bloom!
4. What is the last thing you Googled?
I Googled one of my favorite quotes from Sir Francis Bacon to make sure I got it right. I like his idea that Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed , and some few to be chewed and digested.
5. What makes you cringe?
Hypocritical politicians, particularly "talking heads" who spout talking points that you know are wrong. I feel like shouting at the TV, but it wouldn't do any good.
