Q&A with LEIGH TALBERT MOORE author of ROUGE & GIVEAWAY! @leightmoore

Book Description

 November 10, 2012
Trapped in the underground theater world of 1890s New Orleans, Hale Ferrer has only one goal: escape. But not without Teeny, the orphan-girl she rescued from the streets and promised to protect.

Freddie Lovel, Hale's wealthy Parisian suitor, seems to be the easy solution. If only his touch could arouse her interest like Beau's, the penniless stagehand who captures her heart.

Denying her fears, Hale is poised to choose love until an evil lurking in their cabaret-home launches a chain of events that could cost her everything.

Wife and mom by day, writer by day, reader by day, freelance editor when time permits, chocoholic, lover of YA romance, lover of new adult romance, lover of great books, beach bum, occasionally I sleep.

THE TRUTH ABOUT FAKING is my debut young adult romance. It's a light, happy book with a hot guy and a little message tucked inside.

ROUGE is Book 1 of my Mature YA/New Adult romance series (out Nov. 11). It's neither light nor happy, but it does have a hot guy. And a cabaret...

PLEASE WELCOME LEIGH TO BOOKHOUNDS YA!

What is the first book you remember reading by yourself as a child?

Hmm… tough one! First, my memory’s bad, but second, I read A LOT as a child. So much, my dad used to call me “weekly reader.” I’m not sure why, but that really ticked me off as a child... J

OK, seriously, my mom loves to tell about how I read Little Women when I was in grade school and wrote a 12-page paper about it (which I’m sure was a terrible play-by-play plot retelling.) So I suppose I should go with that one.

What are you reading right now?

Right now, I’m reading Night Sky by my friend and cover designer Jolene Perry.  It’s a great YA contemporary romance. I recommend all of her books.

How does your garden grow?
Not very well, I’m afraid. I can’t seem to figure out which are the weeds and which are the real plants. Sadly, I have a bit of a purple thumb.

What is the last thing you Googled?
ISBNs. I know! That’s the most boring thing, but I needed to buy some. The thing before that was a translation—better, yes? It was the German word for “sweet.” Anywho…
What makes you cringe?

Paper cuts. Nails on a chalkboard. *shivers* Clunky comedians. All cringe-worthy.

Thanks so much for having me, Mary!

  3. The cover is SO pretty! I'm a sucker for covers. This book sounds right up my alley too.

And I feel you with the clunky comedians. It's just so embarrassing, I can't watch.
