BOOKS TO MOVIES -- Beautiful Creatures by @KamiGarcia & @mstohl @lbkids

Could they be Lena and Ethan? 


From the Hollywood Reporter: 

Jack O’Connell and Alice Englert are in final negotiations to star in Beautiful Creatures, Alcon’s adaptation of a novel by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.

Richard LaGravaneseadapted the book, the first in a series, and is directing. Warner Bros., which has an output deal with Alcon, is releasing the movie.

Set in the South, Creaturescenters on two high school teens who must confront a curse that has haunted the girl's family for generations.

The two actors join Viola Davis, who was previously cast in the project.

Viola will play Amma!  I mean, how cool is that?

  1. She's perfect! I'm not sure about Jack for Ethan, though? I need to see some more pictures of him.

    I always have a hard time picturing him-the same as I do with Peeta! It's crazy but those 2 are a couple of the few that I just can't get a clear picture of when I'm reading and it drives me nuts!

    I'm going to look for some more pictures of him :o]

  2. Exciting! Thanks for posting, I hadn't heard that they were going to do a movie adaptation. I love it when they do books to movies... although I'm almost always disappointed.

  3. I guess it was going to happen sooner or later. I wonder if a movie could ever get across the humour in this? The little town where anyone over sixty still talks about the War of Northern Aggression?
